Overview
Kasarsai Dam, located only 30km from Pune's center, is a hidden gem many locals overlook. Despite being underrated, it offers one of the best ways to spend 2-3 hours in Pune. It's a quick 30-40 minute drive from Hinjawadi and boasts a peaceful, scenic setting surrounded by enchanting mountains. Whether searching for resorts, boating, camping, or dining options to complement the stunning scenery, this destination has everything you need. However, it can get busy on weekends, particularly in the evenings, due to its proximity to the city. It's best to visit during the early morning or evening in the summer, while it's an excellent destination throughout the monsoon season. It's an ideal place to catch the sunset or spend quality time with loved ones amidst breathtaking lakes and mountains.

Not-so-good-things:
- The road for the last 2km is in poor condition, with bumps and dust.
- There may be a fee for entering with a bike or car during the hours of 7 am to 8 pm.
- No swimming allowed, also the boating distance is very short
- It gets crowded on weekends
Tips/Suggestions:
- For a more enjoyable experience, consider taking your own vehicle, especially a bike or bicycle
- Don't forget to walk to the right side, which is less crowded and has a better view of all the mountain range and lake
- Try to go on weekdays (Monday to Friday) to enjoy the place thoroughly and to avoid the rush crowd of weekends
- It's suitable for 2-3 hours of outing, not a whole day trip (except if you're doing night camping)
